Background
Caribbean Islands Travel, L.L.C. handles reservations and inventory for Royal Resorts®, a pioneer timeshare company with six beachfront resorts in Cancún and the Riviera Maya, Mexico. Royal Resorts decided to begin marketing its vacation villas for the rental market through the online hotel market in 2009. With little experience handling internet hotel reservations, the Caribbean Islands Travel, L.L.C. revenue management team created its sales distribution network in the first year. The company saw a lot of potential in this new sales avenue and started learning how to optimize online bookings and prices.

Opportunity
The goal was to expand beyond traditional markets to encourage new sales opportunities and improve revenue for the business. Caribbean Islands Travel initiated hotel e-sales for Royal Resorts by subscribing to online travel agents (OTAs). However with only two people managing the inventory and rate updates, it soon became time-consuming to manage the new channels manually.

The Caribbean Islands Travel team knew they needed to find a way that could make the management of Royal Resorts inventory and rates easier – and after research they chose RateTiger.
