Celebrate Eid al-Fitr at Millennium Place Barsha Heights Hotel

The Chedi to open within AlUla’s UNESCO World Heritage site Hegra 

Saudi Arabia will section off part of its ancient Hegra site in AlUla to become a luxury hotel. The surprise move will see the UNESCO World Heritage Site run the flag of Chedi, which will operate the boutique property. The Chedi Hegra will have just 35 rooms; it will link to other structures nearby including a disused railway station and the Hegra Fort, among other buildings. Set to open before the end of the year, the AlUla hotel will employ around 120 people.

The Halyard at Ropewalks Liverpool Hotel joins the Vignette collection 

IHG Hotels & Resorts introduces Vignette Collection to the UK by signing The Halyard at Ropewalks Liverpool, Vignette Collection in partnership with Molo Hotels. The Halyard at Ropewalks Liverpool, Vignette Collection will open later this year under a franchise agreement with Molo Hotels and will be operated by Lighthouse Hotel Management. The 133-key luxury hotel is set in the historic Ropewalks district in the heart of Liverpool, boasting a restaurant, conferencing facilities and a rooftop terrace that will further boost the area’s reputation as a gastronomic hub.

Tanzania women in tourism foster gender parity with TAWTO 

Dubbed Tanzania Association of Women Tour Operators (TAWTO), with its base in the country’s northern safari capital of Arusha, this movement intends to set a gender parity agenda in the $2.6 billion tourism industry. TAWTO will also step-up efforts in promoting the tourism industry with a focus on conservation and encouraging women, especially young girls, to venture into the business by providing them with training on tourism and community development.

Wellness and luxury experiences are high on the travel agenda for Indians 

As per the American Express Travel 2023 Global Travel Trends Report based on survey data from travelers across the United States, Australia, Canada, Mexico, Japan, India, and the United Kingdom, 90% of surveyed Indians are prioritizing travel plans focusing on personal wellness with 87% planning on spending more money on luxury experiences than conventional luxury goods this year.
