Russian hotel OTA Travel.ru (Oktogo) integrates with eRevMax for advanced XML connectivity

Travel.ru, Russia’s largest OTA, has recently completed a two-way integration with eRevMax in order to provide their users with greater flexibility, improved visibility, and more efficient and effective booking processes. Maintaining a portfolio of 350,000 hotels across the globe, Travel.ru had identified issues relating to outdated rates and properties being overbooked simply due to the difficulties in overseeing such a large number of properties. CEO Marina Kolesnik sought out an easy-to-use, cost effective solution to tackle these problems head on, whilst also providing users with additional benefits, most notably eRevMax’s Reservation Delivery Service, which transfers online bookings through the OTA directly to the hotel’s internal PMS.

Hotwire completes two-way XML integration with RateTiger

Hotwire.com, a leading discount travel site, has been incorporated into eRevMax’s Channel Eco-System following certification of a two-way XML interface with RateTiger and eRevMax Connect services for hotels. The XML integration will enhance the communication performance between the channel manager and extranet that will allow hotel users to take greater advantage of selling distressed inventory.
Reservations generated by Hotwire can be delivered through RateTiger and eRevMax Connect into the hotel’s property management system. This will significantly reduce time to update reservation data while ensuring all customer data is entered accurately. Moreover, seamless online booking connectivity will enable hotels to process rate and inventory updates through RateTiger’s XML interface transferring data in real-time, while also receiving reservation data from Hotwire bookings.

FITUR 2012

The thirty-second edition of FITUR was inaugurated by Prince Philip and Princess Letizia of Spain. The official opening by the Royal Family once again shows its unconditional support for the tradeshow and, in general, the Spanish tourism sector.

I attended the event along with my colleague Cristina Hernandez. We found that the exhibition this year was comparatively smaller due to the ongoing recession and various country representations were missing. However, FITUR made their commitment clear to the online sector, web 2.0, technology, social networking and video marketing among others during FITURTECH conferences.

The discussions at the event revolved around topics like new revenue trends such as Flash sales (Groupon), Social Media booking engines, online distribution, direct xml connectivity, online reputation management and affect of the recession on Southern European domestic travel scenarios, etc.

We had a stand which kept us constantly busy. Overall it was a good show with lot of networking opportunities. Look forward to the next edition.
