Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector significantly increased in the first half of 2023. The total expenditure in the sector reached an unprecedented 150 billion Saudi Riyals (US$40 billion), according to the Ministry of Tourism. This period continued the upward trend from 2022, with total tourists numbering 53.6 million, split between 39 million domestic and 14.6 million inbound visitors.
